03531 - Belt Assistant: Mechanical Failure

Possible Symptoms

  • Belt Assistant not working

Possible Causes

  • Motor for Belt Assistant stiff/blocked/stuck
  • Belt Assist Position Sensor missing/faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check/Replace Motor for Belt Assistant
    • Check Belt Assistant Movement
    • Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)
    • Perform Output Test/Basic Setting
  • Check Belt Assist Position Sensor

Special Notes

  • The Belt Assist is the Feature which pushes the Driver/Passenger Belt forward once you open the Door to help the Driver/Passenger reaching for the Seat Belt.
