Comfort module search the wiring diagrams to see if the dash mounted E3 (4-way hazard/emergency flasher switch) is on that same splice. The splice is usually called A125. A faulty E3 (hazard) switch on a "crash signal" circuit can cause this fault code in vehicles such as the (8N) TT and similar.
