03409 - Rolling Mode Recognized
Possible Symptoms
- DTC stored in ABS
- MIL/Warning lamps may illuminate
- No actual drivability complaint in most cases
Possible Causes
- Vehicle operated on a chassis dynamometer (rolling road)
- Front or drive wheels spinning while vehicle is on a lift
- Mismatch between wheel speed signals and vehicle operating conditions
Possible Solutions
- Clear DTC after completing work on a chassis dynamometer
- Cycle ignition OFF → wait ~10 seconds → ON, then clear codes
- Ensure vehicle is operated on approved test equipment when simulating road load
- No component replacement is required unless additional faults are present
Special Notes
- According to the manufacturer: The malfunction will be automatically erased if, after completing work on the roller chassis dynamometer, the ignition has been switched off and on again.
- It is possible to set this code when the vehicle is on a service lift, in gear and the drive wheels are spinning.
- If the DTC recurs under normal road use, investigate wheel speed sensors and ABS system further.
