02844 - Lamp for Automatic Parking Function: Open or Short to Ground
Possible Symptoms
- Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
Possible Causes
- Wiring/Connectors from/to Lamp for Auto-Hold (K237) faulty
- Control Module incorrectly coded
- Auto-Hold not installed
 
- Wiring/Connectors from/to Brake Light Switch (F) faulty
Possible Solutions
- Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Lamp for Auto-Hold (K237)
- Check Control Module Coding
- Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Brake Light Switch (F)
Special Notes
- When found in VW Passat (3C): Parking Brake
- Check if Auto-Hold is installed, car data plate (sticker on 1st page of the service manual or identical sticker in the trunk) should have a UH2 tag.
- Check Brake Light Switch (F) Signal via #53 MVB 003.1
