Possible Symptoms

• Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active

Possible Causes

• Wiring/Connectors from/to Lamp for Auto-Hold (K237) faulty
• Control Module incorrectly coded
  • Auto-Hold not installed
• Wiring/Connectors from/to Brake Light Switch (F) faulty

Possible Solutions

• Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Lamp for Auto-Hold (K237)
• Check Control Module Coding
• Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Brake Light Switch (F)

Special Notes

• When found in VW Passat (3C): Parking Brake
  • Check if Auto-Hold is installed, car data plate (sticker on 1st page of the service manual or identical sticker in the trunk) should have a UH2 tag.
    • Check Parking Brake Control Module Coding.
  • Check Brake Light Switch (F) Signal via #53 MVB 003.1
