P1025 - Fuel Pressure Regulation Valve (N276): Mechanical Failure
Possible Symptoms
- Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
- High pitched whining noise from engine when idling.
- ECM may also have stored in memory, P0088 - Fuel Rail/System Pressure: Too High.
Possible Causes
- Faulty High Pressure Fuel Pump
- Engine camshaft(s) out of time
Possible Solutions
- Replace faulty High Pressure Fuel Pump
- Correct camshaft timing issues

- NAR (North American Region) VW Tech Tip 01-20-05 for 2006 to 2021 vehicles with the 3.6L engine has information on timing issues due to timing chain issues.
