P261A / 009754 Coolant Pump 2: Open circuit
Possible Symptoms
- Fault code stored in memory, no check engine light
- Coolant pump is not operating
- "In certain North American vehicles with a 2.0L TFSI gasoline engine, the electric (after run) coolant pump may short circuit and/or overheat, potentially leading to a vehicle fire"
Possible Causes
- Faulty electrical coolant pump
- Coolant pump is disconnected
- If Recall/Service Action 19N4 was completed, the coolant pump will be disconnected and no fault code will be present.
- If the above is true, then the vehicle should have an open Campaign for the 19N8 Service action
- If Recall/Service Action 19N4 was completed, the coolant pump will be disconnected and no fault code will be present.
Possible Solutions
- Install a new electric (after-run) coolant pump and update ECM software (Audi dealer only)
- Check VIN here to see if there is an open campaign: https://web.audiusa.com/recall/# Audi Recall Service Campaign Lookup
