01531 - Emergency Battery

01531 - Emergency Battery: Lower Limit Exceeded

Possible Symptoms

  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
  • Telematic System not fully functional

Possible Causes

  • Wiring/Connectors from/to Telematic Emergency Battery fault
  • Telematic Emergency Battery discharged/faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Telematic Emergency Battery
  • Check/Replace Telematic Emergency Battery

Special Notes

  • When found in Audi A4 (8E): Telematics, the Telematics Service (Provider) was discontinued as of 30/Nov/2007. For functionality and cost reasons it may not be advisable to replace the Emergency Battery but to deactivated the Telematic Functions instead. In this context please see TPI 1545801, 1623601 and 2001922.
