02443 - Control Head: Implausible Signal

Possible Symptoms

  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON

Possible Causes

  • When found in VW Passat (3C):
    • Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Button for Electro Mechanical Parking Brake (E538) faulty
    • Button for Electro Mechanical Parking Brake (E538) jammed/faulty

Possible Solutions

  • When found in VW Passat (3C):
    • Check Meas. Value Block (MVB) 007.1
    • Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Button for Electro Mechanical Parking Brake (E538)
    • Check/Replace Button for Electro Mechanical Parking Brake (E538)

Special Notes

  • When found in VW Passat (3C):
    • Check Technical Product Information (TPI) 2016824. 2016824 states to disconnect battery for at least 10 seconds, reconnect battery, and turn ignition on, step on brake pedal then operate parking brake for 2 cycles. Recheck DTCs and clear.
