16620/P0236/000566 - Manifold Pressure / Boost Sensor (G31): Implausible Signal

Possible Symptoms

  • Reduced engine performance
  • Check Engine Light (MIL) illuminated
  • Poor acceleration
  • Boost pressure not building properly

Possible Causes

  • Leaks or damage in boost hoses, pipes, or intercooler
  • Loose or damaged hose clamps
  • Electrical wiring issues (shorts, open circuits, poor connections)
  • Faulty Manifold Pressure / Boost Sensor (G31)
  • Faulty Charge Air Pressure Actuator (V465)

Possible Solutions

  • Inspect Charge Air Pressure Actuator (V465) for proper operation
  • Inspect all boost pipes, hoses, clamps, and the intercooler for leaks or damage
  • Check wiring and connectors related to the G31 sensor
  • Verify sensor readings using diagnostic tools and compare to expected values
  • Check and replace the Boost Pressure Sensor (G31) if necessary

Special Notes

  • This fault triggers when the ECM detects a pressure difference over 75.0 mBar between the boost, manifold, or barometric sensors.
