Possible Symptoms

  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
  • Engine Start blocked

Possible Causes

  • Engine Control Module (ECM) replaced but Immobilizer not adapted
  • Engine Control Module (ECM) Software Issue

Possible Solutions

  • Adapt Engine Control Module (ECM) to Immobilizer
  • Check/Update Engine Control Module (ECM) Software Version

Special Notes

  • When found in VW Golf (1K) or VW Touran (1T) 2.0l PD-TDI (AZV/BKD) Immobilizer Control Module:
    • Check TPI 2007201 for a possible Engine Control Module (ECM) Software Update.
