02629 - Sensor for Swivel Module Position; Left : Defective

Possible Symptoms

  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active

Possible Causes

  • Wiring/Connectors from/to Sensor for Swivel Module Position Left faulty
    • Connectors not properly attached AND/OR Pins widened
    • Connectors wet/corroded
  • G474 - Sensor for Swivel Module Position Left faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check/Repair Wiring/Connectors from/to Sensor for Swivel Module Position Left
  • Check/Replace Sensor for Swivel Module Position Left
    • Sensor may be part of the Headlight and the complete Headlight may need to be replaced

Special Notes

  • When found in Volkswagen Passat (3C): Headlight Leveling, check TPI 2012732.
    • If the Fault Code is static (not intermittent) and the Left Subsystem/Slave Swiveling Module has Software Level X017 or lower just replace the Swiveling Module - do NOT replace the Headlight/Housing at this point.
    • If the Fault Code is intermittent and the Left Subsystem/Slave Swiveling Module has Software Level X017 or lower replace the Swiveling Module and the Headlight/Housing.
    • If the Left Subsystem/Slave Swiveling Module has Software Level X018 replace only the Headlight/Housing.
