Possible Symptoms

  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
  • Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL) not operational

Possible Causes

  • Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL) faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check/Replace Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL)

Special Notes

  • When found in VW Passat (3C): Immobilizer, check/replace Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL) per TPI 2022458 (RoW) and Campaign 48I5 (NAR).
