Coding

Minor modifications for retrofitting purposes include:

  • +0016384 = Trailer Hitch not installed or w/o Control Module for Trailer/Towing Sensor (J345)


Basic Setting

Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Calibration

  • Start Engine
  • Turn the steering wheel to end stops (left/right) then straight ahead.

[03 - ABS Brakes]

[Meas. Blocks - 08]
Group 005 Field 1 (Steering Angle Sensor -G85-)
Specification: 0.0 °
Tolerance (when straight): ±5.0 °
[Done, Go Back]

[Security Access - 16]
Enter 40168
[Do It!]

[Basic Settings - 04]
Group 001
[Go!]
Activate the Basic Setting.
[ON/OFF/Next]
After a successful basic setting, field 3 should say "OK".
[Done, Go Back]

[Fault Codes - 02]
All fault codes should have disappeared.

[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Special Note

  • After doing the G85 Calibration, you may get a 01486 - System Function Test Active, this is normal. Please see 01486.

Replacement

  • First, Code the module with the original coding value from the old unit. No Login or Security Access is needed.
  • Next, perform the G85 Calibration.
  • Make sure that no faults are present and that the ABS and ESP lamps are off when you exit out of the controller.
