Software Part Number 5M0-907-357-A to 5M0-907-357-D: (5M0-907-357-V2.lbl)
These control modules support conventional short coding however coding charts are not available in the repair manual. Instead, each coding inquiry has to be configured per vehicle based on the complete Auto-Scan and vehicle repair history. Registered Customers can email directly with each request.

Software Part Number 5M0-907-357-E and above: (5M0-907-357-V3.lbl)
These control modules use the latest UDS/ODX protocol and the current Beta Release is required for compatibility. They support Long Coding and the Long Coding Helper documentation is complete.

Adaptation

Channel 002: Tourist Solution

When driving in countries where driving is performed on the opposite side as in the native country the headlights must be changed over to avoid blinding the oncoming traffic.

  • 0 = Disabled
  • 1 = Enabled

Security Access

  • 15284 = Adaptation Enabling

Basic Setting

Software Part Numbers 5M0-907-357-A through 5M0-907-357-D ONLY

  • Adjust the headlights using their manual adjusting screws as referenced against a suitable aiming target.

[ON/OFF/Next]
The adjustment should now be learned.
[Done, Go Back]
Don't forget to check/clear fault codes afterwards.
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Software Part Numbers 5M0-907-357-E and above

Headlight Adjustment

[Select]
[55 - Xenon Range]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select Basic headlamp setting from the drop-down menu.
[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting.

  • The meas. block field will show Running.
  • Adjust the headlights using their manual adjusting screws as referenced against a suitable aiming target.

Select Acknowledge basic setting
[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting.
After the result of Finished Correctly appears click [Stop]
The adjustment should now be learned.
[Done, Go Back]
Don't forget to check/clear fault codes afterwards.
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Special Notes

  • When fault code: 01042 - Control Module; Not Coded is stored in conjunction with one or more of the AFS lamps lacking I.D. with the text "fehlt" this fault is normal. Both Sub-system (Slave) AFS modules must be online and communicating before Coding -or- Basic Settings can be completed.

The AFS modules ( 7L6-941-329-B ) are communicating properly in this example:

Address 55: Xenon Range
  Part No SW: 5M0 907 357 C
  Component: AFS-Steuergeraet 0142
  Coding: 1446940

  Part No: 7L6 941 329 B
  Component: AFS-Lst.-Modul l 0004
  Coding: 00000022

  Part No: 7L6 941 329 B
  Component: AFS-Lst.-Modul r 0004
  Coding: 00000022

The AFS modules are Not communicating properly in this example:

Address 55: Xenon Range
  Part No SW: 5M0 907 357 C
  Component: AFS-Steuergeraet 0142
  Coding: 1446940

  Part No: ID-L fehlt
  Component: AFS-Lst.-Modul l ....
  Coding: 00000255

  Part No: 7L6 941 329 B
  Component: AFS-Lst.-Modul r 0004
  Coding: 00000022

The Coding cannot be changed in the above example. The cause of the fehlt / missing message for the left light must be corrected first. This includes Fuses, Power, Ground, Wiring Problems, and the actual AFS module(s).

  • When fault code: 01042 - Control Module; Not Coded is stored after Sub-system (Slave) AFS modules / headlight control module replacement recode the master 55-Xenon Range module to the same value and cycle the key. The new slave module should automatically be coded.
