Replacement

This model uses Immobilizer Generation 4D which is integrated as part of the Comfort Control Module (J393). At the present time VCDS can only provide limited support for this Immobilizer Generation. Unless you ALREADY have the SKC information for your vehicle and components, you will NOT be able to perform any of the Immobilizer functions.

Engine Control Unit (J623) Replacement

  • Currently not supported by VCDS.

Comfort Control Module (J393) Replacement

  • Currently not supported by VCDS.

Immobilizer/Remote Control Key Matching/Replacement

Electronic Steering Column Lock (J764) Replacement

  • If you DO have the PIN/SKC for the Vehicle, registered users can email us directly with a complete AutoScan from the vehicle for further Information. Special Notes

  • If the Ignition will not power on the Instrument cluster and CAN Gateway for communication after a new J764 is installed, hold the high beam stalk in the flash to pass position. Turning the 4-way flashers (hazards) ON is another method that applies to Mk5/6 era VWs when CAN communication needs to be forced to match new Immobilizer components.
