00445 - Loss of Refrigerant

Possible Causes

• Refrigerant Loss Signal due to Leak or Sensor Failure
  • Refrigerant Temperature Sensor (G454) Faulty or Removed
• Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Module
• Heating/Air Conditioning Control Module Coding Incorrect

Possible Solutions

• Check Refrigerant Level and Sensor(s)
  • Remove/Disable Refrigerant Temperature Sensor (G454) per TSB/TPI (See Special Notes below)
• Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)
• Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Module
• Check Heating/Air Conditioning Module Coding

Special Notes

• When found in VW Transporter (7H/7J) - Heating/Air Conditioning, check Coding as per TPI 2012743.
• When found in the VW Touareg (7L) - Heating/Air Conditioning, check Coding as per TSB 87-07-15 or 2015947.
