From Ross-Tech Wiki
01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201)
01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201): No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation
Possible Symptoms
- Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
Possible Causes
- Basic Setting not performed
Possible Solutions
- Perform Basic Setting
01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201): Electrical Fault in Circuit
Possible Causes
- Brake Pedal Switch (F) faulty/jammed
- Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) faulty
Possible Solutions
- Check/Replace Brake Pedal Switch (F)
- See Measuring Blocks
- Check/Replace Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201)
- ABS Hydraulic Unit (N55) may need to replaced
- Perform Brake Pump Bleeding
- Perform Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) Basic Setting
- Replace Brake Electronics Control Module (J104)
Special Notes
- When found in RoW (Rest of World) MK60 ABS/ESP Brake Systems check to see if the Repair Kit documented in the following TPIs is compatible:
- VW TPI 2024465 (RoW VW), 2025290 (RoW VW Commercial)
- Audi TPI 2025633 (RoW Audi)
- Seat TPI 2024720 (Seat)
- Skoda TPI 2025844 (Skoda) or the previous RoW TPI 2025663
- If Part Number 1K0-698-517-B is compatible, using the Repair Kit allows to replace the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (which contains the (N55) Hydraulic Unit and (G201) the Brake Pressure Sensor 1) separate from the Control Module which will reduce the Repair Costs.
- When found in conjunction with the brake lights stuck on in cars that use Address 09-Cent. Elect. (J519) with Component field PQ25, BCM25 or BCM T5GP make sure there is not a problem at the rear tail/brake lamp bulb holder(s) causing feedback into the MK60EC1 03-ABS control module resulting in this DTC.
01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201): Implausible Signal
Possible Symptoms
- Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
Possible Causes
- Brake Pedal Switch (F) faulty/jammed
- Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) faulty
Possible Solutions
- Check/Replace Brake Pedal Switch (F)
- See Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)
- Check Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201)
- See Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)
- Check/Replace Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) and/or ABS Hydraulic Unit (N55)
Special Notes
- When found in Bosch ESP Brake Systems:
- The Bosh 5.x ABS modules drop communication at road speeds which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to log live measuring block data. If the Brake Light Switch is suspected as faulty and causing a G201 fault:
- Try logging the Engine or Transmission for brake light switching.
- Drive with the Cruise Control on and see if the system works as per design. If the CCS will not operate or the CCS does not shut off when the brakes are applied the Brake Light Switch may be faulty.
- The Bosh 5.x ABS modules drop communication at road speeds which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to log live measuring block data. If the Brake Light Switch is suspected as faulty and causing a G201 fault:
