Possible Symptoms
- Ignition power will NOT switch on
- Steering column will or will not lock
Possible Causes
- Wiring/Connections from/to N360
- Faulty N360
Possible Solutions
- Check wiring/connections from/to N360
- Check/Replace failed N360
Special Notes
- If the ignition will not switch on, the communication with the Access Start controller still maybe possible, Try this:
- Turn on the hazards, press the brake pedal and hold the flash to pass
- This will wake-up(activate) the CAN-Bus and may allow limited communication to the vehicle
- If present clear the N360 fault code and if the vehicle's ignition power is now active, suspect a failed N360.
- When found in the Volkswagen Passat 3C, please see this page VW Passat (3C) Immobilizer
- When found on the Audi A6/S6/RS6/allroad (4F) the N360 is part of the steering column and is not available separately from the Audi at this time.
- See TSB / TPI 2040593 for possible part/software update when found in Audi Q7 and A6 (2005 to 2015).
- Vehicles equipped with Immobilizer 4C or higher will require an online connection with VW/Audi/Bentley to correctly adapt the new N360 to the vehicle. erWin offers some Immobilizer and Pass-Thru solutions which are mentioned under the notes section of our Official Factory Repair Information page.
- Replacement with a used N360 is not supported.
