02428 - Left Parking Brake Motor (V282) Clamping Force Not Reached: Lower Limit Exceeded

Possible Symptoms

  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
  • Electronic Parking Brake not working

Possible Causes

  • Fuse(s) faulty
  • Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Left Parking Brake Motor (V282) faulty
  • Left Parking Brake Motor (V282) faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check Fuse(s)
  • Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Left Parking Brake Motor (V282)
  • Check/Replace Left Parking Brake Motor (V282)

Special Notes

  • When found in VW Passat (3C): Parking Brake, clear Fault Codes with Engine running (to ensure proper Voltage Supply).
    • Switch Ignition OFF for about 10 Seconds
    • Start the Engine and keep it running while trying to clear Fault Codes.
    • Press the Parking Brake Button (E538) in 5 Second Intervals.
