16885/P0501/001281 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (G22): Implausible Signal
Possible Causes
- Wiring/Connectors from/to Vehicle Speed Sensor (G22) faulty
- Wiring/Connectors from Transmission Control Module (J217) to Engine Control Module faulty
- Vehicle Speed Sensor (G22) faulty
- Malfunctioning Left Front wheel speed sensor (in vehicles that don't use a physical G22 sensor)
Possible Solutions
- Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Vehicle Speed Sensor (G22)
- Check Wiring/Connectors from Transmission Control Module (J217) to Engine Control Module
- Check Vehicle Speed Sensor (G22)
- Check ABS Brakes for faults and diagnose malfunctioning Left Front wheel speed sensor if applicable
Special Notes
- When found in the 4E Chassis A8 with 5.2L V10 make sure this DTC is not the end result of using Basic Settings 200 for Readiness!
- Address 01 and Address 11 part numbers such as 4E0 910 552 A may require clearing this fault code followed by a test drive before Basic Settings in either Engine controller address are possible.
