17977/P1569/005481 - Cruise Control Switch (E45): Implausible Signal

Possible Symptoms

  • Cruise Control not working

Possible Causes

  • Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Engine Control Module (ECM) faulty/incomplete
  • Cruise Control Switch (E45) faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Engine Control Module (ECM)
  • Check/Replace Cruise Control Switch (E45)
    • Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)

Special Notes

  • If the Cruise Control System (CCS) was retrofitted, check the Wiring to the Engine Control Module (ECM). Depending on the Make, Model and Model Year the Hardware Signal can originate from one of the following Sources:
    • Cruise Control Switch (E45)
    • Steering Column Control Module (J527)
    • Central Electronics / Body Control Module (J519)
