17100/P0716/001814 - Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182): Implausible Signal
Possible Symptoms
- Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
- Transmission in Limp Mode
Possible Causes
- Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182) faulty
- Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182) faulty
Possible Solutions
- Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182)
- Check/Replace Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182)
Special Notes
- When found in 6-Speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG/02E), check VW NAR TSB 37-06-07 (2012681):
- May be stored in Combination with 18148/P1740/005952, which usually indicates faulty Wiring/Connector(s). Check/Replace Wiring and Connector(s) from/to Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182) AND Clutch Temperature Sensor (G509)
- When found in vehicles using the 0BK 8-Speed Automatic Transmission (ZF 8HP55AF/AL551-8Q) verify that this isn't the end result of ABS system wheel speed sensor issues as per the closing notes in post#14 here:
