02845 - Function Display in Instrument Cluster (!): Short to Ground

Possible Symptoms

• Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
• Red Brake light or Electro-Mechanical Parking Brake (EPB) light ON
• Auto-Hold function in Electro-Mechanical Parking Brake (EPB) disabled

Possible Causes

• When found in the Electro-Mechanical Parking Brake (EPB) control module this may be caused to a software problem as noted below.

Possible Solutions

• When found in the [53] - Parking Brake control module on the VW Tiguan :
  • NAR (North America Region) vehicles refer to TSB 46-09-03 -or- TPI 2021855
  • RoW (Rest of World) vehicles refer to TPI 2021008

• When found in the [53] - Parking Brake control module on the VW Passat or VW Passat CC RoW (Rest of World) vehicles would refer to TPI 2021874 (or 2021008)
