Audi RCEPS Steering Assist
This page applies to Audi A4 (8K)/A5 (8T)/Q5 (8R)/A6/A7 (4G) Chassis vehicles with Audi RCEPS (J500) Steering Assist. This can be identified by evaluating the data in the Auto-Scan:

Basic Setting
Prerequisites:
- If the 03-ABS Brake control module has a DTC stored for G85 no/incorrect Basic Settings that needs to be addressed in the 16 - Steering Wheel Electronics first. One of these pages would apply depending on the vehicle in question:
- Audi A5 (8T) Steering Wheel Electronics
- Audi A6 (4G) Steering Wheel Electronics
- If in doubt refer to the Diagnostic Procedures page to select the chassis type.
Resetting of learned values for steering assistance
If the Electromechanical Steering Rack was replaced or mechanical repairs to the front end resulted in DTC C10AC Steering End Stops Not Learned that cannot be resolved by following the G85 procedure page alone proceed with the following:
Prerequisites:
Key On, Engine Off (KOEO)
[Select]
[44 - Steering Assist]
[Security Access - 16]
Enter the code shown in the pop-up balloon to enable the basic setting.
[Do it!]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select Resetting of learned values for steering assistance from the drop-down menu
[Go]
When Finished Correctly or similar is shown click [Stop]
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
Start the Engine (KOER)
- With the engine running turn the steering to full right lock and hold it for 5 to 10 seconds. The vehicle should produce an audible beep
- Turn the steering to the complete left lock and the same audible beep should sound.
- Straighten the wheels and wait 5 to 10 seconds while observing the steering and traction control warnings. They should extinguish although it is advised to scan the vehicle again for DTCs prior to the test drive.
