Basic Setting

Note: The basic setting needs to be performed, when the Climatronic control module (J255) or flap motor(s) have been replaced.

Adapt flap end stops

Necessary when flap motors are replaced or a self check needs to be performed for self diagnosis
[Select]
[08 - Heating/Air Conditioning]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select "Adapt flap end stops" from the drop-down list
[Go!]
Activate the Basic Setting.
[ON/OFF/Next]
The basic setting takes approximately 20 seconds.
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]



AC Compressor First Run-In

Necessary when the Climatronic control module (J255) is replaced.

Prerequisites to start the basic setting A/C compressor first run:

  • Engine at idle
  • Transmission in Park or Neutral
  • Do not cycle the ignition
  • Basic setting was performed for the flaps
  • Inside blower motor is switched on
  • Air vents fully open
  • Load management not active


"AC Compressor First Run-In" Steps:
Start engine and allow it to Idle.
Adapt flap end stops ad described above.
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select "Compressor Run In; Automatic Start" from the drop-down list.

  • It will show completed, but wait 120 sec (2 Min) and observe the flashing A/C button light on the HVAC panel.
  • After the Basic Settings has completed, the A/C light will quit flashing and the fault code will clear.


Note: If Basic Settings reports Error the module may need to see an Adaptation change before this can be completed. Go to Adaptation and change "Driving time for compressor run in" from 120 -to- 120 and save it followed by repeating the procedure.
