This procedure details how to enter an odometer (mileage) reading into certain new Instrument Clusters.


Entering the Mileage in the New Cluster

Prerequisites:

  • The new Cluster has already been successfully matched to the car using the appropriate Immobilizer procedure
  • Keys have been matched to Cluster

Changing Coding to display Kilometers in the odometer

If you are live in a market where the odometer reading is in miles, you should change to km before entering the mileage. To do this, consult the Factory Repair Manual for your vehicle. Here is an example:

[Coding - 07]

  • Change the 3rd digit from a "2" (US) to a "3" (Canada)

[Do it!]
Confirm that the odometer in the car now shows kilometers, not miles.

Login

[Login - 11]

  • Enter a new value of 13861

[Do it!]
Make sure the cursor is still spinning and that you have not been booted out.
If this Login is rejected, then the cluster may not need a Login at all, so try continuing with the rest of this procedure.

Adaptation

[Adaptation - 10]

  • Go into Channel 09

[Read]

  • Enter a new value of the number of km divided by 10.

Example: If old cluster had 50,357 km, put in 5036.
[Test]
Observe the Instrument Cluster and make sure the mileage displayed is correct.
Once you save this value, you will be unable to change the mileage EVER!
Unfortunately, some cluster will not display the test odometer on the cluster so just double check your work.
[Save]
The odometer should now display the correct reading in kilometers.

Changing Coding to display Miles in the odometer

This is the reverse of the Coding change made above and is used for markets with the odometer in miles.

[Coding - 07]

  • Change the 3rd digit from a "3" (Canada) to "2" (US)

[Do it!]
Confirm that the odometer in the car now shows miles.
