01325 - Control Module for Tire Pressure Monitoring (J502)

01325 - Control Module for Tire Pressure Monitoring (J502) : No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation

Possible Symptoms

  • Malfunction Indicator (MIL) / Tire Pressure Warning Lamp active
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring not operating

Possible Causes

  • Tire Pressure Monitoring (J502) incorrectly coded
  • Low battery voltage can cause this fault code

Possible Solutions

  • Check Tire Pressure Monitoring (J502) Coding
  • Check the battery and test drive the vehicle

Special Notes

  • When found in VW Passat (3C): Tire Pressure Monitoring, check Coding and perform Adaptation.
  • When found in VW Golf/Jetta/Bora (1K/5M) and similar Golf based models:
    • With Direct TPMS, using the diagnostic capable Tire Pressure Monitoring module, check Coding and perform Adaptation.
      • 2010 Model year Golf and GTI vehicles in the US Market may require a flash update to prevent reoccurring corrupted specified pressures after low voltage conditions. Contact your local VW dealer with the VIN to see if any service actions/recalls are open.
    • With Indirect TPMS (without diagnostic capable address 65) check tire pressure, use TPMS reset button or MFA menu and test drive per the description in the owner's/repair manual.
      • Some vehicles may reset the lights before the test drive and other models may not. If in doubt, test drive the vehicle after the reset procedure followed by running another Auto-Scan to see which (if any) faults reoccurred.
  • The Official Factory Repair Information, vehicle owner's manual and labels on the chassis may provide additional information.
