17230/P0846 - Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch 2: Implausible Signal

Possible Causes

  • Low transmission fluid pressure
  • Wiring issues to/from pressure sensor (G194)
  • Malfunctioning Mechatronic unit
  • Malfunctioning Valve Body or pressure sensor (G194)

Possible Solutions

  • Check transmission fluid level and pressure
  • Wiring issues to/from pressure sensor (G194) when applicable
  • Check for TSBs and TPIs for know Mechatronic unit flash updates and revised parts
  • Check Valve Body and/or pressure sensor (G194) when applicable

Special Notes

  • G194 was installed in NAR market Golf based vehicles such as the (1Y) Beetle Convertible with the 6-Speed Automatic Transmission (09G) manufactured prior to May 2004. When applicable, G194 is used to verify B-2 clutch activation.
