17931/P1523/005411 - Crash Signal from Airbag Controller: Implausible Signal
Possible Symptoms
- Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
Possible Causes
- Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Airbag Control Module (J234) faulty
Possible Solutions
- Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Airbag Control Module (J234)
Special Notes
- When found in early Audi models that use a primitive "crash signal" wire that's spliced to the 01-Engine, 15-Airbags, 35-Cent Locking/46-Cent. Comfort module search the wiring diagrams to see if the dash mounted E3 (4-way hazard/emergency flasher switch) is on that same splice. The splice is usually called A125. A faulty E3 (hazard) switch on a "crash signal" circuit can cause this fault code in vehicles such as the (8N) TT and similar. The following DTCs may be stored in other modules: 01656, P1609 and/or 01366.
